A 29-year-old man was killed after being shot at a motel in Lakewood in the early hours Tuesday morning, official said. 

Lakewood police officers were dispatched to the Blue Sky Motel at 6205 W. Colfax Ave. after receiving multiple reports of a shooting at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they located a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby medical facility. The victim later died as a result of his injuries, police said. 

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending family notification.
