Weather: Temperatures will rise throughout the weekend before a cool down on Monday
Temperatures and wind speeds are both expected to rise throughout the weekend along the Front Range.
Denver’s expected high on Saturday is 45 degrees, but it is expected to warm up into the mid-50’s on Sunday. Overnight wind gusts of up to 30 mph are possible, but are most likely to stay in the foothills and Front Range mountains, said Evan Direnzo, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS) Boulder.
West of Denver and along the Interstate 70 corridor, from six to 12 inches of snow is possible in popular ski destinations like Breckenridge and Aspen.
Direnzo warns of possible winter hazardous driving conditions beginning Saturday evening as wind gusts could reach 80 mph, which will create white out conditions and slick, dangerous roads.
Temperatures will begin to drop starting Monday with overnight lows expected to be in the low to mid-teens, and with highs around the seasonal average.
