Police release new images of ‘John Doe’ found nearly 19 years ago

Law enforcement officials have released new facial reconstruction images of a man whose body was found in Saguache County in 2002.

The man, whose been known to law enforcement as “John Doe” since 2002, was discovered off Colorado Highway 114 wrapped in a blanket or quilt on Oct. 19, 2002.  Officials are hoping that the new images will lead to new information that will help identify the man.

“We are hoping the updated digital reconstruction images will result in new information that will lead to the identification of this individual and to help solve this case,” said Colorado Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Schaefter. 

Saguache County’s Corner’s Office concluded the cause of death was homicide and said the man was possibly between 40 and 60 years old, stood 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighed 225 to 300 lbs.
