‘Armed and dangerous’ man taken into custody in Edgewater

One person was taken into custody Wednesday after executing a “high risk” arrest warrant in Edgewater.
Police said the man — whose information is not being released at this time — was known to be armed and dangerous.
The man was taken into custody by the Jefferson County Regional SWAT Team at his apartment in the 6900 block of West 25th Avenue, Edgewater police said in a tweet at 6:43 p.m.

No one was injured during the apprehension and minimal property damage occurred, police said.
Authorities evacuated the apartment building ahead of the arrest. Police also issued a shelter-in-place order for a quarter mile radius of the apartment building.
