The Denver Police Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at West Evans Avenue and South Zuni Street in the College View neighborhood on Feb. 12 about 7:30 p.m.
According to a probable cause statement, Bartlett, who was driving a silver Dodge pickup eastbound on West Evans Avenue at a suspected high rate of speed, was seen by several witnesses running several red lights before the crash.
A green Mercury van was going southbound on South Zuni Street through the intersection with a green light when it was struck by the pickup.
The crash caused fatal injuries to a front-seat passenger and serious bodily injuries to two other adults.
While interviewing Bartlett at the scene, police said they noticed slurred speech and smelled an order of an unknown alcoholic beverage, according to court documents.
Bartlett was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a second advisement on Tuesday.
