Officials from the Fremont County Code Enforcement were at the home of Randy and Samantha Klotz on R Street in Penrose Thursday, and observed a number of animals suffering. The officials called the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Deputies.

Upon their arrival, deputies located a dead goat that suffered a fatal gunshot wound and found six dogs that were suffering from severe medical issues.

Officials located a total of 18 animals on the Klotz’s property and took them into their custody.

The Klotz’s were charged with seven counts of animal cruelty and were issued summons to appear in court.
