Matthew Miller was arrested Wednesday in connection to a shooting in Aurora earlier this month, the Aurora Police Department announced.
Miller, 34, has been charged with first-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Police said the shooting happened on Saturday at 9:22 p.m. at 1905 Blackhawk St., in the Shadow Tree Apartments across the street from the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Miller allegedly shot another man, who then took himself to a hospital. Police said the victim’s injuries were nonlife-threatening and he is expected to be OK.
Police have not released what circumstances led to the shooting. It is unclear if Miller knew the victim or if his intent to distribute charge was related to the victim.
Miller’s case will be prosecuted by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
