An investigation is underway following a bank robbery that occurred Thursday evening in Lakewood, police said.

Police said a man walked into First Bank at 1940 S. Kipling Parkway just before 5 p.m. Thursday and presented a bank teller with a note demanding cash. 

The teller complied with the demand and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect has been described as a White or Hispanic male whose between 5-feet 3-inches and 5-feet 6-inches, and was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, a grey neck gator, a blue and grey plaid shirt, khaki pants and dark colored shoes.

Authorities investigating bank robbery in Castle Rock

The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and the Lakewood Police Department have opened an investigation into the case.
