Calling all walkers and runners!
Arapahoe County officials announced a 5K walk/run trail series that is intended to celebrate the county’s open spaces, fitness and good health along the thriving local trails.
The inaugural run will kick off at 8 a.m. April 10, where contestants are encouraged to walk, run or jog along a traffic-free course at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds park.
In an effort to keep everybody safe and to comply with COVID-19 regulations only 200 participants will be allowed to participate during the in-person run and masks will be required for anyone over 11, officials said.
But despite the restricted limit of people in person, county officials are encouraging those wanting to participate to do so either virtually, or to sign up for one of the three other races that are a part of the trail series.
The others races will occur:
- June 12 at 17 Mile House Farm Park
- Aug. 14 at Richmil Ranch Open Space
- Oct. 9 High Line Canal
Those interested in participating can register here.
