Remains found in Adams County over the weekend belong to missing woman

The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains recovered by law enforcement officials were those of 24-year-old Jasmin Cigarroa who was reported missing last Wednesday.

Authorities recovered Cigarroa’s body in a rural area of Adams County on Friday after receiving a tip about her possible whereabouts the previous day, The Denver Gazette previously reported.
Cigarroa was reported missing on Wednesday after she was not heard or seen from since the following night.
Denver police seek help in finding missing woman
After the discovery of her body, authorities took her husband, Jonathan N. Mijangos, 23 into custody. Mijangos is being held on suspicion of committing first-degree murder, according to online court records.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department confirmed to The Denver Gazette that the Denver District Attorney’s Office would be filing charges within the coming days.
“The Denver District Attorney’s Office accepted felony charges in this case,” said a DPD spokesperson in an email statement to The Denver Gazette.
