Thornton police retrieve vehicle from pond near I-76

Thornton police officers and Westminster fire crews retrieved a vehicle from a pond near Interstate 76 on Thursday, police said.

The unknown vehicle was submerged in a pond in the 7500 block of I-76 Frontage Road. Police announced the incident at 10:48 a.m. Thursday. 

Officers and Westminster Fire water rescue attempted to check the vehicle, police said.

Police search for at-risk man missing from Thornton since August

Information regarding the vehicle and whether any passengers are inside is unknown.
