Dozens of Denver metro students awarded millions through Daniels Fund scholarship

Daniels Fund scholarship winners-2019

More than 60 high school seniors in the Denver metro area were awarded the Daniels Fund scholarship this year, one of the most prestigious and lucrative scholarship programs in the state.

The Daniels Fund, a merit-based scholarship program, provides scholars with up to $25,000 per year in educational expenses, allowing them to attend any accredited nonprofit college or university in the country.

“The 2021 cohort is impressive and filled with outstanding young people who have promising futures,” said CEO Hanna Skandera. “We’re delighted to have them join the family of Daniels Scholars and look forward to being a part of their journey.”

Graduating high school seniors in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming with good academic standings and annual household incomes under $85,000 are eligible for the scholarship.

Of nearly 2,000 applicants, 240 scholars were selected this year — 135 from Colorado, 29 from New Mexico, 37 from Utah and 39 from Wyoming.

Of the Colorado scholars, 23 attend high schools in Denver and an additional 41 attend high schools in the Denver metro area.

The Arrupe Jesuit High School in Denver had the highest number of scholars out of schools in all four states, with a whopping 10 students receiving the scholarship. No other school had more than three scholars this year.
