Three West Metro Fire Rescue firefighters suffered minor injuries while responding to a garage in unincorporated Jefferson County Saturday morning.
The firefighters were transported to a local hospital to be evaluated, according to a tweet by WMF.
Crews were dispatched to a garage fire at an apartment complex near South Simms Street and West Bowles Avenue in Littleton shortly before 9:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, crews observed smoke showing from one of the garage units.
After preparing the hose line to the garage door, firefighters opened it and the smoldering fire flashed over and caused a vapor explosion, WMF said.
Crews battle the blaze that began in the engine compartment of a vehicle parked inside the garage. Officials believe the fire was started accidentally.
