An investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is underway after a carjacking on Monday.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to the parking lot of the Estrella Apartments at 7050 Pecos St. after a report of a carjacking shortly before noon Monday.
Deputies located a victim, who told authorities a man pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him and demanded his blue 2018 Jeep Renegade.
The victim said he complied with the suspect’s demands and ran towards the apartment complex. At the same time, the thief entered the Jeep and drove away at a high rate of speed, according to the release.
ACSO officials described the suspect as a short man between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, and has a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a light gray plaid jacket and lightp-colored baseball cap while armed with a large black handgun.
