Denver solicits proposals for rental assistance program

Denver’s Department of Housing Stability is soliciting proposals from service providers interested in helping the city administer the Emergency Rental Assistance program.
The ERA program is responsible for providing financial assistance for rent, utilities, home energy costs and other expenses related to housing. Additionally, renters who are currently behind in payments or cannot make payments due to COVID-19 can receive assistance from the program.
Service providers will be responsible for using a central database to review, approve or deny applications for Denver residents. They will also be responsible for issuing the payments to landlords, tenants and utility providers, according to the release.
HOST is seeking proposals for the period through Sept. 30, 2020 and said there is a possibility of future extensions for the service provider. Applications must be submitted at www.rockymoutainbidsystem.com by 11 a.m on April, 27.
A virtual conference giving interested providers additional information will be held on April 13 at 10 a.m.
