I-70 closed both ways at Eisenhower Tunnel
Both directions of Interstate 70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel are closed as a safety precaution following multiple traffic crashes Thursday evening.
Eastbound I-70 was initially closed shortly before 5 p.m. at Silverthorne after a multi-vehicle pile up, just east of the the tunnel, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Within 30 minutes, CSP urged drivers to avoid the I-70 corridor following a crash just west of the tunnel. CSP said the interstate would be closed for at least the next couple of hours.
As of 8 p.m. there is no estimated time for the interstate to reopen.
