FEMA provides additional $250 million to state’s COVID-19 response
The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Friday that Colorado will receive an additional $250 million for the state’s COVID-19 response effort.
Officials confident state will reach herd immunity in 'weeks to months'
The funds will be given to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for creating and implementing seven community-based testing sites between August 7, 2020 and March 31, 2021. The money covers lab services, supplies, equipment transportation and processing of tests, according to the FEMA release.
“This FEMA assistance is making a difference across Colorado,” said Acting FEMA Region 8 Administrator Nancy Dragani. “These testing sites, along with expanded equitable vaccine access, helps local Coloradans fight back in the battle against COVID.”

To date, FEMA has provided $829 million to Colorado for it’s COVID-19 response.
