A man is dead after he crashed while driving early Saturday morning in Aurora and was thrown from his vehicle.

Police were dispatched to westbound Interstate 70 between E-470 tollway and the East Colfax Avenue exit at 2:40 a.m. following a report of a single vehicle roll over. 

Officers located the vehicle that drove off the right side of the road and rolled over. During the crash, the man was ejected and pronounced dead on scene.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once he’s been positively identified and his next of kin has been notified, police said.

Aurora: police upgrade shooting investigation to homicide

An investigation into the crash closed the westbound lanes of the interstate for several hours, but since has reopened. 

Police did not say whether speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
