Former Aurora officer charged after allegedly giving woman methamphetamine, pipe
A former Aurora police officer is facing drug trafficking charges after allegedly providing methamphetamine to a woman in March.

Josiah Coe, 32, has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance and official misconduct after appearing in Arapahoe County District Court on Wednesday morning, according to online court records.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the Aurora Police Department received a complaint on March 31 from the woman, who claimed Coe gave her methamphetamine and a new methamphetamine pipe on March 4 while working on an off-duty assignment.

The woman explained to officials that she and Coe allegedly smoked a cigarette outside of the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora and had a lengthy discussion about pornography.
After their conversation, Coe allegedly obtained shoes for the woman, and as she was entering a Medicade Cab to take her home, Coe allegedly handed her a blue bandana and said “you owe me, but nothing bad. I promise,” according to the affidavit.
The woman got inside the cab and found a new methamphetamine pipe and $20 worth of meth.
Police Chief Vanessa Wilson asked the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to conduct a criminal investigation, said Susan Medina, a spokeswoman for CBI.
Police search for 14-year-old runaway out of Aurora
Before CBI’s investigation concluded, Coe resigned on April 22. The findings were then given to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
“I want to assure the public that we will not tolerate anyone who dishonors the badge we wear,” Wilson said in a statement. “I want to thank the person who came forward for having the bravery to report this misconduct.”
Coe is scheduled to to return to court on June 7, according to court records.
