One seriously injured in bike, vehicle crash in Fort Collins
A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a truck in Fort Collins, police said.

Officers were dispatched to an “injury collision” shortly before 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Overland Trail and Laporte Avenue in the northwest part of town.
Upon their arrival, they located the bicyclist who suffered serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
The driver of a 2018 Ford F-150 pick up truck did not sustain any injuries.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the investigation was handed over to the department’s Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling Team, police said.

Investigators determined that a 2018 Ford F-150 pick up truck was headed south on North Overland Trail and ran a red light and collided into the bicyclist.
“Traffic laws are in place to keep everyone safe,” said Fort Collins Police Department Lt. Michael Trombley. “As the weather warms up and more cyclists and pedestrians are out recreating, we ask all motorists to remain alert and aware.”
Police did not say whether the driver would be facing criminal charges.
