A man’s body was recovered Tuesday morning from the Cherry Creek Reservoir in Arapahoe County, officials said.

Former teacher at juvenile detention center sentenced for sexually abusing teen inmate

Emergency personnel were alerted at 11:08 a.m. to the body’s presence after a group of fisherman observed the body, said Ginger Delgado, a public information officer for Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies requested the assistance from South Metro Fire Rescue to recover the body from deep water. Officials successfully recovered the body at 1:10 a.m.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the person’s death was a criminal act or suicide. 

Information regarding the victim is not being released at this time.
