2 men wounded in separate overnight shootings in Denver

The Denver Police Department is investigating after two men were shot in the city overnight in separate incidents.

The first shooting happened nears Coors Field about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, in the 1900 block of Blake Street. Police said the victim and shooter got into a confrontation before the shooting.

The victim, identified only as a man, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

The second shooting happened less than 30 minutes later at an apartment complex in the 5100 block of East Donald Avenue, in the Goldsmith neighborhood near East Iliff Avenue.

Police said the shooting happened after a fight broke out at a small party in the apartment. The victim, also a man, was shot in the foot or ankle and is expected to be OK.

No arrests have been made in either shooting, police said. No suspect information is available.

The shootings are not believed to be connected.
