Dog knocking over candle causes fire in Denver apartment
An apartment was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon after the residents’ dog knocked over a candle in the bedroom, the Denver Fire Department said.
Firefighters responded to the incident at around noon at the Modera River North Apartments at 2840 Blake St.
The fire was contained to the bedroom and quickly put out, officials said. The fire did not spread to any other apartments and the victim’s apartment was not destroyed.
The residents are currently working to determine if they can remain in the apartment despite the damage, officials said.
No injuries were reported among the residents or firefighters.
The Denver Fire Department will investigate the incident to confirm the cause of the fire.
