House damaged in large garage fire in Boulder County
A Boulder County house suffered serious damage Monday night after its attached garage erupted in flames, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
The fire began at about 8:15 p.m. in the 6400 block of Bluebird Avenue, near Niwot. When firefighters arrived, the single-family house was completely engulfed in smoke and flames, deputies said.
All family members and pets were able to safely evacuate without injury before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters contained the fire to the attached garage and quickly extinguished it. Deputies said the house suffered significant damage but does not appear to be a total loss.
There is no information about what might have caused the fire. The Multi-Agency Fire Investigative Team is looking into the cause.
No firefighters were injured while responding to the incident. No other houses or structures were damaged.
First responders included the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain View Fire, Boulder Rural Fire, Longmont Fire, Lafayette Fire, Louisville Fire, Hygiene Fire, Lefthand Fire and American Medical Response.
