Denver police search for person of interest in fatal Capitol Hill shooting

The Denver Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man believed to have information about a fatal shooting in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Gary McLaughlin, 35, was shot and killed Friday at around 2:50 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Sherman Street.

Police said McLaughlin’s friend known only as Paul might have information about what happened. Paul is believed to live in the immediate vicinity of where McLaughlin was shot.

Police do not know what happened leading up to McLaughlin’s death. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting as of Sunday.

Anyone with information about the shooting or who knows Paul is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers immediately at 720-913-7867.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
