Suspect arrested in connection to double homicide in Green Valley Ranch
A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection to a double homicide that occurred in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood last month, the Denver Police Department said.
Police said 23-year-old Sergio Rodarte is being held for two counts of first-degree murder.
The probable cause statement for Rodarte’s arrest is sealed. Police have not provided any information about what led them to Rodarte in the investigation.
Police said the killings happened on May 1 about 2:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of North Odessa Street.
Two men were found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were identified as 20-year-old Mariceo Negrete and 22-year-old Josiah Salas by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
No information is available about what led to the shooting. Police have not said what the relationship is between the victims and the alleged shooter.
The investigation is ongoing.
