Motorcyclist killed after crashing into broken-down vehicle on I-70

A motorcyclist was killed late Saturday night after he crashed into a broken-down vehicle on Interstate 70, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the crash happened just before midnight on I-70 near Brighton Boulevard. The motorcyclist was going westbound when he drove into the vehicle that was stopped in the road.

The victim, identified only as a man, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity and official cause of death will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after his family has been notified.

Westbound I-70 was closed for several hours as officers processed the scene, police said. It has since reopened.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. No charges have been announced against the vehicle driver.
