Two dead after vehicle crashes into tree in Denver
A single vehicle crash Saturday in Denver’s Virginia Village neighborhood left two people dead, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the 17000 block of North Monaco Parkway around 2:30 p.m. after a report of a vehicle colliding into a tree, said Ana Munoz, a spokeswoman for the Denver Police Department.
Munoz said both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were pronounced dead-on scene. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Currently, investigators know the vehicle was traveling at a high-rate of speed, but do not have specifics or what ultimately led to the crash.
Portions of North Monaco Parkway are closed and police are urging motorists to use alternative routes.
