Man with long gun arrested after shots fired outside Jefferson County apartment complex
A suspect was arrested Monday after allegedly firing several shots outside an apartment complex, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies said neighbors called 911 to report a man with a long gun outside of the Westwood Green apartments at 7410 W. Warren Circle. They said the man had fired multiple shots.
Responding deputies located the man and took him into custody about 11 a.m., deputies said. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
No one was injured by any of the shots fired, deputies said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Deputies have not released any information about why the man was firing the shots or his connection to the apartment complex.
A shelter in place order was issued for the surrounding neighborhood but has since been lifted. Deputies said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
