Motorcyclist killed in crash with truck near Ruby Hill Park

A motorcyclist was killed Monday after crashing with a truck near Ruby Hill Park, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the motorcyclist was riding “at a high rate of speed” east on West Florida Avenue at 3:55 p.m. when he drove into a truck that was turning left into the park on South Osage Street.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. His identity will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after his family has been notified.

Police said the truck driver, who was not injured, stayed at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with officers. The driver’s identity is not being released at this time.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police are currently working to determine which vehicle was at fault.

No charges have been filed against the truck driver as of Tuesday afternoon.
