Suspect escapes deputies by ramming into patrol car, driving wrong way on I-70

A suspect evaded deputies Wednesday by ramming into a patrol vehicle and driving the wrong way down an interstate, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said they found a wanted vehicle in the 5500 block of Federal Boulevard, near Regis University.

Once deputies pulled behind the vehicle, the driver reversed, ramming into the deputies’ car. The suspect then drove off down Federal Boulevard, officials said.

Deputies chased after the vehicle, following it as the driver ran through a stop sign near West 49th Avenue.

Deputies called off the chase when the suspect drove onto Interstate 70 in the wrong direction, deputies said.

No injuries were reported. The suspect and vehicle have not been located.

The vehicle is described as a white Mitsubishi sedan. There is no description for the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
