Human remains found near Diamond Lake Trail

Human remains believed to belong to Joshua Hall, 27, of Arvada who went missing in February were located Thursday, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

A volunteer with the Front Range Rescue Dogs organization who was preparing for another search for Hall’s remains, located the remains just over 4 miles west of the Hessie Trailhead, near a stream, just west of Nederland, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

The gender and age of the dependent is unknown at this time due to decomposition and possible animal activity, but based on the location of discovery and items found near the body, authorities believe it may be Hall, officials said.

Hall’s cell phone was last tracked near Devil’s Thumb Lake and the Diamond Lake cutoff, the Denver Gazette previously reported.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the identity of the remains as well as the cause and manner of death.
