Longmont Public Library to reopen to public

Longmont Public Library

After being closed to the public for nearly a year and a half, the Longmont Public Library will reopen their doors to the community on Monday, officials said.

The library will reopen for the first time at 10 a.m. after a 17-month hiatus caused by the COVID-19 virus and restrictions. However, library officials used the closure to make structural repairs on the building, according to the release.

Upon reopening, the library will have slightly modified hours throughout the week as the building will be opened to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The library will be open from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and will remained closed on Sunday.

Although the interior of the building will reopen to the public, curbside delivery will still be offered through Labor Day weekend on the library’s east entrance.

Likewise, programming offered at the library will remain virtual until Labor Day weekend, according to the release. Officials will release additional information about when programming and meeting spaces will be offered in-person.
