Denver police looking for vehicle involved in shooting incident

The Denver Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle from which occupants fired at officers in the Ruby Hill neighborhood Sunday.

The vehicle is a black late model mid-sized SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon, with tinted windows and fender flares, according to a bulletin from the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

Police said the suspected vehicle was last seen on Sunday at 3:11 a.m. headed northbound on South Zuni Street after an unknown number of people fired at a Denver police officer.

The incident occurred at the intersection of West Jewell Avenue and South Zuni Street, according to the bulletin.

Anyone with information regarding the location or owner of the vehicle is urged to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters with information that lead to an arrest and conviction could earn up to $2,000 as a reward.
