Amy Schneider’s Jeopardy! winning streak has come to an end.

After 40 wins, Schneider lost during Wednesday’s game to first-timer Rhone Talsma, a librarian from Chicago, just two days after beating Matt Amodio’s second-highest number of consecutive wins in the show’s history.

“To know that I’m one of the most successful people at a game I’ve loved since I was a kid and to know that I’m a part of its history now, I just don’t know how to process it,” Schneider said in a statement obtained by CBS News.

The clue that stunted her streak came during the Final Jeopardy round, which read, “The only nation in the world whose name in English ends with an ‘H’ and is also one of the 10 most populous.”

Talsma quickly responded, “What is Bangladesh?” Schneider didn’t answer.

Talsma finished in first place with $29,600 in the game, while Schneider finished in second with $19,600.

Schneider, a transgender woman from Oakland, California, became the fourth contestant and first woman to surpass $1 million in winnings on the show earlier this month, according to the New York Times, ending her run with $1,382,800, the fourth highest in the show’s history.

Schneider’s run is second only to Ken Jenning’s 74-game streak in 2004.
