5 taken to hospital with minor injuries after 15-car pileup in Aurora
A crash in Aurora involving multiple vehicles shut down a portion of northbound Interstate 225 and sent multiple people to the hospital Sunday night.
The Aurora Police Department said on Twitter that the pileup, reported south of Mississippi Avenue, involved about 15 vehicles.
Northbound lanes of the interstate were closed at Iliff Avenue for about an hour and a half. Police tweeted that all lanes were open at 10:30 p.m.
Five people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
The crash followed multiple pileups earlier in the day on Interstate 25 in Denver. The crashes reportedly involved 50 cars and shut down northbound stretches of the highway for several hours.
