U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass will be closed until 4 p.m. Thursday as crews repair damage caused by a sinkhole, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The sinkhole occurred on Wednesday.
Motorists can use Interstate 70 and the Eisenhower Tunnel as an alternative route while the highway is closed, transportation officials said.
But there will be hourly traffic stops at the tunnel so that vehicles carrying hazardous materials can be escorted through the tunnel.
