The Snowcreek fire in Jefferson County is 50% contained, the West Metro Fire Protection District said Wednesday.

The 1-acre brush fire caused dozens of residents near U.S. Highway 285 and State Highway 8 near Mount Lindo to evacuate on Tuesday.

Fire crews on the ground will continue to build a perimeter and containment area, while a helicopter douses flames from the air, fire officials said.
