Teen faces murder charge in connection with Aurora shooting
Prosecutors on Monday formally charged Donovan Yates, 17, with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 28-year-old man near Beeler Street and Colfax Avenue in Aurora on Aug. 8.
Yates also is charged with possession of a handgun by a juvenile, according to the district attorney’s office for Adams and Broomfield counties.
Yates is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 9.
