LIFE | This club cares for Cripple Creek’s famous donkeys

The Two Mile High Club, initially called the Mile High Club, was formed in 1931 when local business owners banded together to care for the free-roaming donkeys that had been freed from working in local mines. The donkeys now spend the winters in a pasture just outside of town, being cared for by the club until their release into town every summer.
