Asa Hutchinson met with booing and ‘Trump’ chant during Turning Point Action speech

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson was met with audible booing from attendees at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday.

When Hutchinson, who is running for the 2024 Republican nomination for president, took the stage, the crowd immediately began booing. Video further showed attendees piling into the aisle, headed toward the door.

At one point, the crowd broke out into a “Trump” chant, in support of the former president, who Hutchinson has been a vocal opponent of.

The Arkansas Republican did receive some applause after reminding the audience that he signed a bill as governor barring biological men from playing on women’s sports teams in schools.

When Hutchinson reiterated his campaign for the presidency, he received renewed booing from attendees, causing him to pause for a moment before continuing his speech.

Earlier, presidential candidate Mayor Francis Suarez also received some booing and heckling ahead of his speech.
