A two-story residence caught fire Saturday morning in Aurora. Responders were able to get everyone out safely, including a few animals.

Aurora firefighters responded to a structure fire reported near Olathe Street and Colorado Avenue around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to a social media post by the Aurora Fire Rescue. Responders found heavy flames on both floors.

“Efforts were swift,” according to the post. Responders shut off utilities, secured a water source and found all of the people inside of the residence. Only one person was found and helped out of the house’s garage. They had no injuries.

Two cats and one dog were also found in the residence and were safely reunited with their owners, according to the post. Colorado Red Cross was also brought in to help the family with shelter and supplies.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
