New hot chicken eatery opens this week in Colorado Springs

The grand opening for Dave’s Hot Chicken at 1286 Interquest Parkway near Scheels Sporting Goods is 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Jay Hafemeister and his father, Jim Hafemeister, partners in JH Foods Ltd., bring the fast-growing chicken franchisee to the Springs. They are also longtime owners of 11 Carl’s Jr. locations around town.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for its jumbo hot chicken tenders and sliders, which are offered in seven spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaper, which, according to press materials, requires a signed waiver for those who dare to try it. Also on the menu are kale slaw, mac n’ cheese and french fries.
