2 pedestrian crashes in Denver Saturday morning, 1 fatality

Two pedestrians were hit in crashes on Friday evening. One was killed.

As of Saturday, there have been 25 fatal pedestrian fatalities in Denver. There were 26 total in the city in 2022. There are three months left in the year.
 
Officers responded to a reported crash at South Colorado Boulevard and East Iowa Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. A motorist struck a pedestrian, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department. Police said the pedestrian was seriously injured. 
 
Police responded to another pedestrian crash in the 6800 block East Yale Avenue around 10:30 p.m. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle, according to another social media post by the department. 
 
The department is investigating the incident.
 
Colorado recorded 115 pedestrian fatalities in 2022, the highest number in the state’s history, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
