Aurora police arrested two more suspects in connection to a homicide that occurred in the Del Mar Parkway neighborhood in August.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Ahmed Mohamed and a 15-year-old Aurora boy on Oct. 6 in connection to the fatal shooting and auto theft that left 49-year-old Miguel Angel Saucedo Araujo dead, according to a press release from the Aurora Police Department.

The shooting happened in the 900 block of Paris Street at 4:30 a.m. on August 23rd. Araujo and his son woke up to the sounds of people allegedly stealing scooters from their yard. They followed the suspects in a truck, but backed off when the suspects allegedly shot at them.

When they returned home, a vehicle drove past the house and fired off “several rounds into the home,” the police said. Araujo was injured and later died on the scene, the police said. 

Mohamed was arrested in a stolen vehicle by Aurora Police’s Direct Action Response Team. Investigators connected him to the shooting while in custody for the stolen car, according to the press release. 

Mohamed — 17 during the time of the shooting — was charged as an adult in Arapahoe District Court with one count each of first and second-degree murder, two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and illegal discharge of a firearm, according to the news release. 

The 15-year-old juvenile was arrested by the Direct Action Response Team in an unrelated incident and later connected to the shooting. He was charged in Arapahoe Juvenile Court with one count each of first and second-degree murder, two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and illegal discharge of a firearm. He was not named, as he’s a juvenile. 

Another suspect — a 16-year-old juvenile — was arrested by Aurora police on Sept. 2. 

Police noted that the incident is still under investigation.
