Aurora’s best Halloween displays pop up on interactive map
Halloween is just around the corner, and the best Halloween displays in Aurora might be just down the block. Aurora’s interactive map of the city’s best Halloween decoration displays is live and accepting submissions as the holiday creeps closer.
Aurora’s “Spook-tacular” Halloween display map is on the city’s website and can be added to by anyone who sees a Halloween display of note within the city’s boundaries.
Aurorans can simply open the map, drop a pin for a good Halloween display and add a photo or notes.
So far, four displays have been added to the map.
At 471 S. Kingston Circle, a pin is dropped marking “a spooky pirate ship and more.”
At 15938 E. Milan Dr., “the whole neighborhood decorates and people stand outside,” on Halloween, a mapper noted.
Nearby, at 16950 E. Wagon Trail, there is a “fun family friendly display,” with a photo attached of a house that can barely be seen beyond the array of spooky décor.
Along with a self-driven tour of the displays, there are several other fall and Halloween-themed events coming up in Aurora.
- Trick-or-treat nature trail: The Morrison Nature Center at Star K Ranch, 16002 E. Smith Rd., is bringing a trick or treat experience to its nature trail from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 and 29. “Don your costume and learn about all things nature as you trick-or-treat around the trail and participate in fun activities,” according to the website.
- Dancing in the Dark: An immersive haunted house experience at The People’s Building, 9995 E. Colfax Ave., on Oct. 27, 28 and 29. Tickets can be purchased on The People’s Building’s website. Each tour is 20 to 25 minutes on foot and costs $16.
- Treat Street: On Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be games, hayrides, live entertainment, pumpkin painting, a petting farm, a costume contest and over 20 trick-or-treat stations at Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, 25690 E. Quincy Ave. Tickets are $10, but discounted for people who attend in costume, $5 for adults and free for children under 12.
