1 dead in North Broadway shooting

Police found the victim early Wednesday morning

Police found one victim dead following a shooting on North Broadway Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting near the Five Points neighborhood in the 2300 block of North Broadway around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department. Responders found one victim and noted that their injuries were unknown at the time.

The department announced that the victim was pronounced deceased around 9:30 a.m. in a subsequent post. The case is now being investigated as a homicide and the Office of the Medical Examiner will identify the victim at a later date.

The incident will mark the third Denver shooting this week. Three victims were shot at 16th and Glenarm Place on Sunday morning following an altercation between a group of people near Lime An American Cantina on the third floor of the Denver Pavilions. Three people were slain, with three more injured, by gunfire at 12445 E. 39th Ave. early Saturday morning. No suspects have been arrested in either mass shooting.

Another shooting occurred Sunday in the 500 block of East Colfax, according to police.
