UPDATE: All lanes of Colfax have reopened to normal traffic as of 1 p.m., Aurora Police said.

UPDATE: Eastbound Colfax remains closed at I-225. Traffic investigators are at the scene performing crash reconstruction. Colfax will remain closed for several more hours, the Aurora Police Department said.

The Aurora Police Department is investigating a seven-vehicle crash that closed eastbound lanes of Colfax Avenue east of Interstate 225 Monday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m., according to a tweet from Aurora Police.

Five people were injured in the crash, including two people who were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. Three others reported minor injuries.

Police estimate eastbound lanes of Colfax will be closed for several hours and drivers should use alternate routes.
