Colorado Springs sets new record high temperature on Sunday

Amid a warm weekend, Colorado Springs set a new daily record high temperature for Nov. 5 on Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo reported that Colorado Springs hit 76 degrees beating the previous record of 74 degrees.

The previous record was set in 2009.

Warm weather is expected to continue in the coming days before anticipated snow showers later in the week.

Alamosa also set a new daily record high temperature after reaching 69 degrees, passing its previous record of 66 degrees for the date. The previous record was set in 1944 and 1977, according to the weather service.

Pueblo tied its daily record high temperature of 80 degrees amid heightened critical fire weather conditions. The previous record high temperature was set in 2004 and 2009.
