Teen suspect arrested in fatal stabbing of 40-year-old man in Aurora

The Aurora Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing involving a teen suspect and an adult male which occurred Sunday night in south Aurora.

According to police, officers responded to the scene at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday after being notified of a stabbing at the Acadia at the Cornerstar Apartment complex in the 16000 block of East Easter Circle, just south of the intersection of Arapahoe and Parker roads.

Upon arrival, the responding officers found a 40-year-old man lying in an entryway and unresponsive, according to police. The man had multiple apparent stab wounds to his torso, police said.

Officers performed lifesaving actions until medical responders arrived, police said. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The Arapahoe County Coroner Monday identified the victim as Dominic Ramon Robinson, 40, who suffered “sharp force injuries at his residence.” The death was classified a homicide.

Police took the suspect, a 13-year-old boy, into custody at the scene and he was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder. Due to the suspect being a minor, he was not identified by police. Police did not say whether the suspect and victim are related.

The investigation by Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit remains active and ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867).
